About the Program

The Government of India has launched a comprehensive initiative to foster innovation and support start-ups through its Startup Accelerator of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development, and Growth (SAMRIDH) program, addressing the need for an accelerator program that drives social impact and scales solutions for India's challenges. The program aims to support 300 tech Start-Ups in 3-year duration with cohort size of 5-10 Start-Ups.
SAMRIDH Program is conceptualized and being implemented to provide support to selected accelerators for extending acceleration services to start-ups along with one-to-one matching funding support of up to ₹40 lakh. In the first round of cohort, 22 Accelerators spread across 12 states are supporting 175 startups, selected through a multilevel screening process.

Major Objective

The SAMRIDH scheme aims to support existing and upcoming Accelerators to select and accelerate potential IT-based startups to scale. Among others, the program focuses on accelerating the startups by providing customer connect, investors connect and connect to international markets.

Salient Features of the Scheme

• The SAMRIDH Scheme provides start-ups which already have brilliant solutions and proof of concept for their product, better facilities to enhance their product using innovative technologies for the market with a solid business plan.
• The SAMRIDH scheme supports existing and upcoming Accelerators to select and accelerate potential IT based start-ups to scale for solving India's problems creating positive social impact.
• The SAMRIDH Scheme provides start-ups with a platform to enhance their products and secure investments for scaling their business.
• Once a Start-up gains traction, there is a gap in accessing the growth stage funding to scale up the operations, and SAMRIDH Scheme is filling up this gap for the start-ups.

1. Startup Registered under Companies Act 2013 and having 51% Indian shareholder
2. DPIIT Registered Startup
3. Tech-based startups looking for scaling and investment
4. Startups with prototype ready for market validation with initial traction and raising private investments
