How ABIF handles submissions, confidential files, and operational records
ABIF IIT Kharagpur collects only the information needed to respond to enquiries, evaluate applications, run founder and mentor workflows, and maintain program, grant, and audit records. Confidential application and MIS files are intended for authorized ABIF reviewers and the relevant startup team, not for public browsing.
What we collect
Contact details, application responses, supporting files, founder workflow submissions, and limited usage or audit information needed to secure and operate the platform.
How access is controlled
Public website media may remain public where intentionally published. Confidential application, mentor, founder, and MIS files are routed through protected access checks instead of open public links.
Why we use the data
To evaluate eligibility, communicate with applicants, manage mentorship and founder workflows, support grant governance, and maintain operational and compliance records.
Your responsibility
Please avoid uploading information that is not required for the relevant form. Share confidential materials only where ABIF has explicitly requested them.
Retention approach
These are ABIF's current operational retention targets. Some records may need to remain longer if legal, contractual, financial, or funder obligations apply.

| Applications and mentor submissions | Target review at 24 months after the last active review point | Application forms, pitch decks, CVs, and supporting documents are retained for evaluation, program decisions, and audit support, then reviewed for deletion or archival. |
| Founder MIS, KPI, and grant records | Program term plus operational and audit retention | Grant workflow data may need to be retained longer where contract, funder, finance, or compliance obligations apply. |
